WORKS MINISTER, SENATOR DAVID UMAHI CONDOLES FAMILY MEMBERS OF FUEL TANKER EXPLOSION VICTIMS, ASSURES TINUBU’S EQUITABLE INFRASTRUCTURE DISTRIBUTION IN SOUTH EAST

The Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi regretted the unfortunate incident of fuel tanker explosion along Enugu – Onitsha expressway and assured President Bola Tinubu’s readiness to complete the ongoing reconstruction of Enugu- Onitsha via the ministry of works.

However, Umahi called on the South Easterners to appreciate President Bola Tinubu for his dedication to equitable infrastructure development in the region.

Umahi made this statement while hosting a delegation from the Enugu and Anambra State caucus of the 10th National Assembly at his Abuja office. 

The lawmakers sought federal intervention for the completion of the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, being handled by RCC Ltd and funded by MTN under the Tax Credit.

Umahi emphasized the President’s commitment to ensuring that no region, including the South-East, is left behind in infrastructure development.

He highlighted Tinubu’s role in resolving farmer-herder clashes in the South-East and addressing Nigeria’s infrastructure deficit despite economic challenges.

Expressing sympathy over lives lost on the uncompleted sections of the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, particularly the recent tanker explosion on the Ugwu Onyema axis.

Umahi assured stakeholders that the ongoing efforts to complete the ENUGU – ONITSHA Expressway project would be sustained.
