Imo Commissioner call on imolites to submit unlawful firearm

Imo State Commissioner of Police ISAAC AKINMOYEDE has warned citizens of the state to submit possession of unlawful firearms in the territory.
In an exclusive interview with Darling FM, AKINMOYEDE said this is in compliance with the directive of the Inspector General of Police MOHAMMED ADAMU for a nationwide clampdown on people in possession of illegal firearms.
According to him, area commanders and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) to identify, isolate, disarm, arrest and prosecute any person or group in unlawful possession of prohibited firearms.
On the issue of taxation of drivers on various designated points in the state, he warned that any officer found in the act will be punished accordingly.
The Imo State Commissioner also urged the public not to hesitate to report any form of crime to the closest police station around them, adding that this will help fight crime in the state.
