IMO GOVERNMENT PROMISES TO REVITALIZE PRIMARY HEALTHCARE SYSTEM IN THE STATE.

As Nigeria joined the rest of the world to celebrate the World Health Day 2021, the Imo state Government says it is setting up a plan to improve universal healthcare for the People.

The State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Bartholomew Chukwunonye Okorochukwu disclosed this in an exclusive interview with Darling Fm Chukwuemeka Paschal.

Dr. Bartholomew who was speaking on this world health day theme: “Together we can reach a fairer and healthier World”, said the decision was informed by the need to revitalize the primary healthcare system and to reduce the burden on secondary and tertiary health institutions.

He stated that his ministry will soon evolve in a statewide health education programme for the betterment of Imo people.The Health Commissioner also noted that Governor Hope Uzodinma led administration is tirelessly working toward improving quality, accessibility and utilization of basic healthcare services provided at Primary Healthcare Centres in the state.
