Imo state deputy Governor GERALD IRONA, has condemned the previous administration over the level poor drainage systems on the major road in the state.
Speaking to journalists in Owerriduring the sanitation exercise,Irona said more work will be done by ENTRACO to ensure that Imo, which was previously the cleanest city in Africa, regains its lost status.
He said the government led byEMEKA IHEDIOHA is putting plans in place to provide waste bins at strategic locations in the short term, with the intention of going door to door policy in the medium term.
He also noted that the blocked drainage channels in the capital city will receive urgent attention, while assuring ENTRACO of the state government support to enable them carry out their duties.
On his part ENTRACO chairman, ALEX EMEZIEM warned those in the habit of dumping refuse at locations unapproved by the government to desist henceforth to avert disciplinary action.
