Owerri Municipal Interim Management Committee Chairman EBERE CHUKWUEMEKA has condemned the demolition of Eke-Ukwu Owerri Market by the former Imo State Governor, ROCHAS OKOROCHA.
The market was demolished on August 26th, 2017, when the leadership of the previous administration ordered bulldozers accompanied by armed security operatives to demolished shops and building.
Speaking with Darling FM, the Owerri municipal interim chairman said OKOROCHA abused Court orders, saying Eke-Ukwu Owerri Market is the pride of the people of Owerri.
CHUKWUEMEKA however appealed to the state Governor EMEKA IHEDIOHA to return Eke-Ukwu Owerri Market back to the people, adding that it will also create economic growth and wealth creation.
EBERE CHUKWUEMEKA also called on traders selling along the road to move into the SOMTOCHUKWU Hospital to ease movement in the area.
